How ridiculous is that! And no easements were left periodically through so you had to walk all the way to the office area to get to the beach. The beach was a good size, nice sand, yayyy, we can actually go swimming. Well you have to maneuver through 10 feet of small, slippery round rock to get there. What I can't believe is that there IS all this rock right at the water's edge where all the little toddlers are supposed to be running through the water.

But they don't because they can't. My 3-year-old granddaughter was one of them. You'd think with all the thousands and thousands of dollars they are raking in there daily, they could move some rock for their guests. Barefoot Beach has their area right next door and we checked We will never stay there again. Even though it's close to Penticton where our daughter and her family live now. There are a lot of camping spots here and can be very busy but because you have just a great beach to sit at it is worth having so many other campers close by.

You are close to town if you want to go and the channel which many people float down on a hot summer day is only a short drive to the top of it and within walking distance back to your campground if you float the whole way down. Happy Camping.

We met some friends for the May 24th long weekend in Penticton. We set up anyway. I desperately continued to the next facility and it too was locked and the third as well. They did finally open the two second and third try toilets but left me miffed thinking to myself how are my kids going to cope with the long bathroom walk.

Very odd.

Also very pet unfriendly. No dog beach! In fact the so called beach front sites located where we were, which we could not rent because we had dogs were on top of a 30M steep weedy slope then another 30M to the water.

No sand just rocks. Nothing made any logical sense here. Who does that. Thoroughly cheesed off after paying premium rates for service! I will spread this review far and wide!

Nearby destinations

Owner must be incredibly cheap! The early fall is beautiful in the Okanagan and most summer travelers have gone home so I was able the snag a beach front RV spot. Great accessibility and flat spots. Friendly hosts. Bathrooms were clean but nothing fancy and you had to pay to use the showers. You're also able to have a tent in your RV spot, so friends of mine tented.

Pretty sure this place is well liked by many as it's virtually impossible to get into during the summer months. I'd stay here again without hesitation.

Now open year round, this very busy RV park on Skaha Beach in summer becomes quieter and more pleasant in the fall. The spaces are very small, but there are spots right on the beach as well as lake view sites. Many are well treed and there is a big playground in the middle.

My concern was the state of the restrooms and particularly the shower areas. With black mold running up the walls and a minimal level of cleanliness, the main facilities attached to the office building were a disappointment and I'd go as far to say unacceptable condition.

Pictures are attached. The one small bathroom open in the camping area was even worse and should be pulled down and rebuilt. I heard that the men's showers were much better, but have no direct experience. I believe this is the third year Wright's has been open year-round and the office staff and owners certainly give the impression that customers are just an inconvenience.

The on-site maintenance staff was pleasant, but the office people provided the absolute bare minimum of service and seemed to begrudge the effort. There are other year-round campgrounds in Penticton that I think we'll try in future. Banbury Green up the road in Kaledan is very beautiful and also on the beach. We won't stay at Wright's again unless the mold issue is addressed.

It might be better if the place closes down part of the year to give staff and owners a break and time to do necessary repairs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this campground. The camp ground was clean, pleasant and quiet. We had easy access to the beach, water activities and walking paths. The view from our site was amazing. We were a long way from amenities and sites are small and close together. The park gate is closed at pm and you can not get in after that time. You must park on the highway and walk to your site. This limited city evening activities. As it was summer the congestion getting in and out of the park was awful as there is only one exit and entrance.
