We really enjoyed our afternoon out at the museum. Unfortunately, the weekend we came, they switched over to their fall schedule, so we only had a couple of hours to explore. There was a lot of interesting information. Lots of buildings to look at. I have trouble with my knees and my husband has breathing problems so we did not go upstairs in the buildings. The thing that made me change my mind was a workshop series offered throughout the summer to help remember the stories of Indigenous people in this area.

Fright Night. I've heard a lot about this museum from my 7 yrs old granddaughter who loves it. You put a bracelet on if you did not want frightened. Good idea to bring flashlights if you tend to get frightened easily plus it helps you find your way around. We went from building to building in the dark. Each building was decorated with people dressed in costumes to frighten.

Our kids ages 7 and 3 loved it.

We carved pumpkins, did a cob web maze, made masks, had hotdogs and roasted marshmallows making smores. After the food a drink would have been nice but that is the only suggestion I have. You pay for nothing once in. We went on a gorgeous night and sat by the campfire listening to stories being read.

A great place to spend an afternoon! We were staying in Oakville and decided to visit the museum prior to leaving. The primary mistake we made is that we didn't give ourselves enough time to check all of the displays. The museum still provides a tour guide to walk through most of the displays.
