How your employees experience their time with you does. Our customers return based on their experience with us. We are continuously reviewing the way we do business, how our customers are seeing us, experiencing us and what we can do better. We involve our teams in the entire process by giving them a voice in the overall customer process and experience.

Our best ideas have come from team members sharing an idea or reliving a consumer experience where their business was valued and appreciated. Striving to be the best place to work and do business means we have to do things differently. If your team is not engaged, they will not engage your customers. In the late s, teacher Dennis Firth saw a need for Rocky View School students to have a more in-depth learning opportunity in the field of mechanics. During that time, the number of students who are able to take part in this program has increased and the experiences they take part in have become richer and more meaningful.

Tom van Wieringen, a Cam Clark Ford Technician, has been involved in the program for the last eleven years and hasfostered this growth first hand. Van Wieringen shared that in the earlier days of the program, students only worked on "dummy cars. As a result of this growth, Rocky View Schools' mechanic students are provided opportunities to develop authentic communication skills, critical thinking and problem solving skills first hand. Alongside the shop you will find a classroom, complete with student desks, a computer lab and a traditional lecture space.

In this environment, Rocky View students receive instruction that reflects the Mechanics grades 10, 11 and 12 theoretical curriculum.

Adjacent to both the classroom and the shop, the Mechanics Program administrative office, where both customer bookings and student attendance is reported, can be found. This is where much of the day-to-day administrative organization takes place and is also where parents and customers alike can connect with RVS staff to have questions about the program and its public services answered.

Very few partnerships like this exist. Currently, RVS Mechanics students are comprised of interested grade 10, 11, and 12 students from Airdrie and surrounding high schools.

Small class sizes make the program competitive, yet inclusive. With the support of Cam Clark Fords' Technician, Tom van Wieringen, and Rocky View Schools' teacher and Licensed Mechanic, Stephen Teasdale, students are privy to over 50 years of combined knowledge and experience in the mechanics and automotive industry. Because of the partnership between Cam Clark Ford and Rocky View Schools, students are exposed to authentic hands on learning opportunities that very few people are afforded.

Keeping with the need for students to be technologically literate, trade related theory, knowledge and information is delivered in part using current online platforms. These are practiced with the support of both the classroom teacher, Mr. Teasdale, and the Mechanics' Program support staff, Melanie Gilliland. Once students have clearly demonstrated competence in this part of their learning journey, they are able to enter the four bay mechanic shop area where the application of their knowledge comes to life.

When Rocky View students attend the Mechanic's Training Center at Cam Clark Ford for the first time, they very quicklylearn the expansive nature of the mechanics trade. Students are introduced to and given the chance to explore specialized areas within the mechanics trade. This includes automotive glass, auto-body repair, tire and lube shops, parts salvaging, antique restorations, custom builds, heavy duty and small engine repair.

With time, students begin to formulate their own understandings about the mechanics trade and reflect on their personal growth as learners.

I feel that the company values my presence. It is a great place to work, with some great people. I would contribute more to education of my 3 granddaughters. I'd also contribute to more activity within the Airdrie Community. I enjoy working for a great company, with my team members - my work family, and watching the company grow, providing the opportunity for me to grow with it. Well, that is a tough question. I would pay off everything, make sure my children were looked after, and book a nice vacation. Then I would lost likely work for a couple of more years and then retire.

I have always thought of this job as my last job. According to police, a man was returning to his car after shopping in the store Sunday evening.
