Pictou Lodge Beachfront Resort. A lovely elderly gent lives nearby and comes to talk to you about the Bore, which was marvelous. Heading back to Maine after 5 weeks in NS. We had a 3-way pull through, C The overall Park is only so-so and Blair Lake is hyper eutrophic, that would be nutrient polluted. Right, don't you just love it.
Loch Lomond RV Park - Amherst, Nova Scotia - Campground Reviews
We got 2 local stations on antenna TV, which we much appreciated. Amherst is a blue collar town, fine. Duncan's pub was nice, although the seafood chowder is way over rated on Tripadvisor. We were here with 13 other motorhomes for a rally. The hosts were more than helpful and generous.

It is a lovely campground on a lake. Everything is well kept and clean. Tip for Other Campers: Amherst is a lovely small town. Aug Nice well managed park with friendly staff, well spaced sites, concrete pad on grass, good internal roads, near level sites very little shade. Close to town and most facilities.
Just stayed one night passing though. Had Pull through site on grass which was a little hard to level on but found the sweet spot. Did not use the pool but it looked good. Would stay again and probably for longer to use as base to explore N. Umberland Sound towns and Annapolis Valley. This park is mostly seasonals with a small, unlevel, area for transients.
Our motorhome needed several boards and ended up with the front wheels off the ground. After viewing the exhibits, taking a formal tour of the beach-side cliffs, particularly the two-hour session, is highly recommended. Tour availability is determined by the timing of low tide, so check in advance. Lunch in the park's cafe was good.
Rates & Tariffs
This is a very nice park. IT is quiet and spacious. It was easy access to the highway. It has nice navigatable roads and spacious lots. Our lot had a concrete patio and a new picnic table. Everything was well maintained, trimmed, and clean. The restrooms were immaculate, each one having it's own shower.
The laundry room is very nice too. They had a nice pool and game room. It's misleading though to brag about being on the lake, when there is only one small set of steps leading to a small dock that go to the lake. It is a very limited access and view of the lake. The only other drawback is that they do not have a keypad enry and you have to wait for the office person to see you and open the gate.
We stayed 2 nights in a 35' motorehome, with tow dolly. We plan to stop here again on our way back through. We highly recommend this park. It was very windy so things were blowing around. It was a holiday weekend so the large park was packed.
